This was a test run of a cupcake bar... Wasn't quite sure how it would go over, (or how messy it would be), but it was quite the hit. I had my 9 year old niece helping the little ones decorate the cupcakes. She was my cupcake manager :)
You could easily use regular cans of frosting, I did make mine- I will dig out my recipe for you all. It is tried and true, and I use it for all cakes and cupcakes. I had some large craft sticks to help apply the frosting to their cupcakes.
I just love the test tube sprinkles. 
Oh yeah, and balloons make it better!
